Flossing Cavities

The picture above shows what a cavity looks like on an x-ray and in real life after extraction. This is the definition of a flossing cavity. These cavities form between two teeth and are often found in pairs (one on each tooth that touch). The reason we get these cavities is from lack of flossing. Bacteria and plaque love to hide in places that we can't find. In-between our teeth is their favorite place because a tooth brush can't reach that far. That is why it is absolutely important to floss. Flossing removes plaque and bacteria where tooth brush bristles can't reach. Flossing just once a day can help to prevent flossing cavities and save money at your dental visits!
