No More Cavities: What You Don't Want to Hear
I see this every day. "Why do I have so many cavities?" "Are my teeth weak?" "Well my dad had bad teeth." "My baby sucked the calcium right out of my teeth."
There are two things you can do to protect your teeth from cavities and gum disease........
It is VERY scientific....
~~DRUM ROLL PLEASE~~
Brush and Floss.
It truly is that is. Brushing your teeth with small circular brush strokes will eliminate plaque on the surfaces you can see. Flossing your teeth cleans the extra 30-35% that brushing misses. The combination of the two will keep your teeth happy and healthy and your wallet nice and full.
There are even more reasons to brush and floss your teeth. A few years back gum diseases and heart disease were found to have a positive correlation. Heart diseases is the number one cause of death for both men and women. Also, most recently, an article was posted correlating Alzheimers and dementia with gum disease. Neurofibrillary tangles, the bundles that cause dementia, were found in the brain of rats just one week after being infected with Enterococcus faecalis, a common gum disease bacteria.
The easiest way to avoid cavities and gum disease is to brush and floss your teeth. No way around it. Brush, Floss, and visit the dentist twice a year to set yourself up for a lifetime of health and happiness.
